Plein Air Painting, 9th November 2022, Nelson Port, Vickerman Street
Meet us for plein air painting on 9th November 2022, 10am, at the Nelson Port, Vickerman Street. High tide is forecasted for around 11am and we will have the fishing boats as our subject. The challenge with this location is that there is no coffee shop in walking distance and the toilets are further down the road. However, we could maybe meet for lunch at the Ruby’s coffee cart if we like.
Directions: Vickerman Street starts at the corner of Haven Road/SH6 and Haven Motors. Drive past Burnsco Marine and continue straight ahead through the roundabout with the petrol station at the corner. Keep on going until you see a long car park on the right hand side. This is where the “small” fishing boats are mored and it’s almost the end of the Nelson Marina.
Please bring your painting supplies, a chair, bug spray, sun screen, morning tea/lunch and good weather.
Plein air painting is scheduled for every Wednesday morning, except the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Please note, we won’t meet if the weather is not accomodating (rain or strong winds).
Please let me know if you have any suggestions on where to go for plein air painting.
