Plein Air Painting, 26th April 2023, Silvan – Fundraiser for RDA
Meet us for plein air painting on 26th April, 10am, at Silvan, 205 Champion Road, Richmond. Silvan is a beautiful private property with a lake amongst forest trees. The leaves are changing colour and the lake is always a lovely subject to paint, no matter what season it is.
As always, we are very grateful for this opportunity. Sarah Griffin, the property owner, advised that the Riding for the Disabled (RDA) School has a fundraiser and open day for public on the 29th April. She suggested a donation by our group. So if you like to do a little donation I can collect the money on the day and pass it on to RDA or you can donate directly to RDA RICHMOND, 06 0705 0442722 00.
Directions: Please park your car in the parking area by the shed. Be mindful not to drive anywhere on the lawn (we caused some damage before and don’t want to repeat the mistake). The lake is a short walking distance down the hill from the carpark and easy to find. Toilet facilities are available.
Please bring your painting supplies, a chair, bug spray, sun screen, morning tea/lunch, and good weather.
If you have any suggestions on where to go for plein air, please let me know. On the list are Gravity Winery and Cellar Doors and Branford Park, Nelson.
Plein air is scheduled for every Wednesday morning, except the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Please contact me if you like regular updates by email.
