Old Wharf Road

“Old Wharf Road” was painted at our recent plein air painting outing at Motueka’s Old Wharf Road (NZ). The idea was to paint the Janie Seddon shipwreck but black clouds came in as I arrived and sure enough it started raining soon. All I could paint was the view from my car as I set up my painting gear at the boot (the Janie Seddon was behind the wharf). This worked really well with the brush in one hand and the umbrella in the other to avoid getting rained on my back. I’m really pleased with this painting even though it wasn’t the intended subject.
