Nelson Port and Boulder Bank

This painting shows the view from Atawhai, Nelson, over the Nelson Port towards the Boulder Bank. The buildings at the Nelson Port are shown in an old fashion manner with the typical reddish New Zealand roofs. Today the port looks more industrial than it is depicted in this painting. Reggie and Roy are two horses who’s home is in Germany. They are cared for by a lovely family and enjoy going for carriage rides through the local forest. These horses are best mates, very smart and determined to open all those gates on their own one day. This painting shows the horses enjoying a brisk winter’s day.
