Cashmere Bay captures an early morning in May 2024 at Lake Brunner, Moana. It was gorgeous to paint at this beautiful location, overcast, with no wind and only a few black swans swimming past. Old Wharf Motueka
Old Wharf Motueka” was painted at a plein air painting outing to a decommissioned historic wharf in Motueka, NZ. In the morning when I arrived at the location gloomy black clouds had followed me and sure enough it started raining soon. Mapua Wharf from Rabbit Island
This painting was done in 2024 when I took the ferry from Mapua to Rabbit Island with two fellow artists. We painted the view of the wharf when a weka (New Zealand flightless bird) came by and stole Jo’s art supplies. The art supplies were recovered quickly as the bird discovered that they were not eatable and dropped everything while fleeing the scene. Last week the weather was dreadful, so let’s try it again. Meet us for plein air painting on 6th December 2023, 10am, Tahunanui Beach. This will be our last plein air painting for the season.
